Designer Spotlight: Olivia Rubin

The collections presented during S/S 12 London Fashion Week stole the show from those of more established labels; however, the really exciting part is the crop of emerging talent, mainly graduates of the prestigious Central Saint Martins, who look to continue the resurgence of British fashion. One such designer is Olivia Rubin who, according to her biography (Olivia Rubin..), created prints for the likes of John Galliano and Alexander McQueen before establishing her own label. Her signature brick print has attracted positive attention from both influential magazines and celebrities (e.g. Cheryl Cole), the latter a key element for success these days. I’m not one to blindly follow celeb trends but I’ve especially fallen for her brighter prints which are juxtaposed with a clean, unfussy structure.
