As the calendar turns to December, party season officially begins and with it the inexplicable urge (at least for me) to wear sparkly things. In general, I’m a firm believer in dressing up but even for those who are weary of resembling tinsel, there are options available on the High Street that err on the side of demure. The items pictured below are fairly basic except for the added interest of texture whether it be feathers (Warehouse) or sequins (Oasis and Asos). As this does not constitute everyday wear, it’s wholly unnecessary to spend designer prices unless of course you’re talking about Anya Hindmarch’s Valorie glitter clutch, which I absolutely adore, but I digress! The most expensive piece here is the £120 baroque print River Island maxidress but I would argue that you could get alot of mileage out of this dress, from New year’s Eve through to Summer. Of course when in doubt a vintage sparkly necklace, like the one from Susan Caplan below, will always do the trick!
