In honor of the Chelsea Flower Show, I recently took a trip to the Chelsea Physic Garden to see their amazing collection of rare plants. According to their website (http://www.chelseaphysicgarden.co.uk/), the Garden was founded in 1673 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries for the purpose of training apprentices in identifying plants. Due to the special warm “microclimate” (clearly lacking in the rest of the UK!), tropical plants from places like the Canary Islands and Asia are cultivated successfully. I highly recommend a visit to this tranquil space but in the meantime, here are some photos from my visit:
